WOW! Well it's over now for the most part (training wise) but I definetly learned a lot and met people both good and bad. Still moving into my new DC location here at Bolling AFB. All said and done, I'm doing the administrative work for the clinic on base. Able to get out over the weekend, DC is definetly not a bad place to live. Check out club Fur if you're ever in the area. Still waiting to receive my stuff most importantly my motorcycle. Getting approved to ride it on base might pose a challenge it seems. Having some actual free time, I'll be able to get back to keeping up with the site amoung my other hobbies. With my new found job, it seems, I'll be able to have some kind of "normal" life style. Look for some interesting articles about the AF training process, definetly some hilarious moments to it all.

Feeling as though I have been neglecting my web presence (this seems to be common with this type of website), I'll let the many who visit in on my life happenings since last update. Last month I joined the Web 2.0 revolution with belonging to MySpace and Facebook as well. Also considering creating a Flickr account to accompany the website so someone else can store my photos. The social networking sites are really just one more public banner in getting the word out about me. Beautiful how the Internet provides such a grand podium from which to shout at the top of your longs from. Awhile ago I realized that most listen to the loudest person regardless of what they have to say. No one can promote yourself better than you can. Maybe I'll put a video on YouTube. Viral marketing seems to work now more than ever. The grand scheme is to become one of the few john doe/average joe/the meek celebrity. We are to inherit the earth or so it is said.

With less than 30 days to wrap up my civilian life and begin anew as a military personel, the reality is truly setting in. What is best, though, is to think as little of it as possible and let what shall be, be. Right now I'm looking to off load some expensive books I've purchased recently and getting rid of items I rather not let rot until I can come to retrieve them. Some items, such as my motorcycle (which I will dearly miss riding) will have to stay but having little left behind is key for me. Other notables are securing the bills I will still have to pay and closing no longer needed accounts. Still looking for the "Sell it on EBay" brick and mortar stores locally. It will be much easier to give it to them to deal with than handling all that is involved with selling it on EBay yourself. Sure, a few items are not bad handling it yourself but I've got my entire life possessions to get rid of in less then a month and giving someone else a piece of the profits is ideal in order to dump it all quick. In some ways I view this looming drastic change in my life as going to prison. Not sure why, as I know it will be far from it but nevertheless I've set some goals to accomplish before I leave, one of which is to learn to play the piano. Renting my Piano for Dummies at the library and getting an electronic keyboard for Christmas, I've gotten pretty far at least in learning how to read sheet music and playing a few tunes one of which is Mary's Little Lamb--I have that down tight. Ultimately, I would enjoy being able to play the Moonlight Sonata before I ride the metal bird into the lone star state. Another "little" project I've been working on since last summer (more than that really but that was mostly learning how) is a video game I'm working on whenever I get the chance to named "Samuel: Rise of a King" or "SROAK" as I like to refer to it. I've got a thread started on boards of the engine I'm using that gives some eye candy. The thread is mostly a tease to generate a small seedling of interest at this point. Hoping to finish the design document before I leave and maybe (just maybe) the pre-rendered demo. Once those hurdles are hurdled, I'll work on a playable real time demo. With design document, non-playable demo, and playable demo to show I'll begin head hunting for part time team members to help in the burden of producing the full title.

Unfortunately, I have not gotten around to finishing the articles I've promised over the months. This web site is really about knowledge I've acquired and not so much about news involving me. Thus, to feel like my monthly hosting fee is getting good use, I'll finish up the promised articles listed last update before I leave. Maybe I'll get on that tonight. Not going to promise any new articles as I hate getting back logged but I'm sure I will have interesting/entertaining/informative articles to write once I get my hands on a text editor, PC, and Internet connection once out of BMT. With a much needed update, the website has four more articles upon the heap. FAFSA dependency, game art creation, EDPT, and the exploits of Karaoke grace the pages of political, technology, personal and entertainment respectively. For the next update, I'm already writing alphbetical concotions for using a game engine, working Ebay towards your budget advantage, and the pluses to cracking open the best selling book, the Holy Bible.

Sitting one night, drowning myself with my good friend Jose Cuervo, my recruiter called on a Saturday (highly unsual) to let me know that everyone in her delayed brain numbing limbo entry program actually booked a job or in my case an apptitude area. Called her before T-day and found out that I booked general apptitude area and will be flying to San Antonio TX a.k.a. Lackland AFB for boot camp or BMT (Basic Military Training) for 6 and 1/2 weeks on Feburary 27 '07. If all goes well, I'll be an Airman Firstclass on April 17. Nervous sure, but I can't wait for I'll actually be doing something for a better future. In the mean time, I'm wraping things up on the home front, working out, and continuing my game development project. I often find it weird that I must join the military to go to school to get an education to become a part of the game development industry. Gotta do what you gotta do. However, it is worth it considering the growing hype and acceptance of "video games" (they're much more if you ask me) after this last round of recent console releases.

With a new look, the website is getting some new articles in. Articles so far include my experiences of getting a motorcycle license and volunteering for the Rockford Air Fest under personal. More articles are on their way such as the cost of college, creating game art, taking the EDPT, karaoke, game engine use, using EBay, and reading the Bible.

So far I haven't booked a job yet and still do not know when I'll be leaving for BMT. However, I wish the whole process would hurry so I could get underway. Recently I qualified for a cool job ASFC 9S100 or Applied Geophysicist Technician. Little by little I am getting rid of my worldly possessions so that I can have as little ties or roots here once I fly to Lackland, so don't touch that mouse until I do.

A plethora of juicy articles grace the pages of the website under the personal section. Stories such as anal probing, stuffing 500 kittens under your seat, and top gun righteousness are all there. And now that the Air Force owns my soul, I should have a lot to write about in the coming weeks. Once I go off to boot camp, though, the site will stay dormant for at least two months (!) so I'll be sure to cram as many articles as I can to help keep you loaded. Enjoy!

While shedding my old life and beginning anew, I've taken the time to forge more words of wisdom to breath fresh air into the pages of the website. Entertainment wise, I've given a synopsis of club life, you can get a full read out on the practice ASVAB I've taken in the personal section, and for the webmasters on a budget, read how to get a website up and running for under 30 dollars in the technology category.

The radio program in still under development with finding a distribution method being top priority. Also, a site redesign is under consideration but may be put off until later. That's all for now so stay loaded.

The last of the balloons have burst, the empty bottles have been dumped, the pounding migraines have stopped, the tabs have been tallied, and the birthday is over. After a wealth of converging mile stone birthdays (13, 16, 18, 20, 21) an abundance of mediocre age festivals awaits until I turn another decade older at 30. Nevertheless, you can read a full debriefing of my 21st under the personal section.

In the spirit of getting serious, the next weeks of life shall be hectic as I sell off most of my possessions, liquidate my truck, purchase my motorcycle, sign up for my job with Uncle Sam, take my ASVAB, and go off to MEPS. Be prepared for many articles to arise under the political and personal sections.

Two new articles have been written in the technology and personal sections so be sure to give those a read. More articles are on their way so stay tuned. The ability to view a list of all articles on each page is in the works so get ready for even easier controls. Also, in the works, is a weekly half hour long radio show discussing current events, tips tricks, how to's, and random garbage complete with clips from visitors. If you'd liked to be the first on the "air" contact me with an included clip to be played. Planned articles for the week include my own version of the Great Disappointment in the religion category, female college population rise versus downfall of male population in the political section, and disappointments over the decline in quality programming of the former TechTv now G4TV channel in the entertainment portion.

Now that the site is in working order across most popular browsers, more content can be written along with developing some new ideas/concepts for user interaction. Polls, contests, chats, and comment submissions so stay on the look out. Also, revenue is being considered with possibly Google AdSense and other pay per click through programs. The ads will go along the white space to the right. A counter has been added to track visitor statistics like system configurations and peek traffic times. This data should help in keeping a smooth running website that is accessible to most. Upcoming articles will be on game development, website creation on the cheap, and a full disclosure of my 21st birthday in five days. Thanks to all who helped with the compatibility issues.

After intensive QT, the site has compatibility problems with Fire Fox and Opera. It is also assumed to have compatibility problems with other lesser known browsers. For now, only IE 6.0 is officially "supported", however, every attempt is being made to correctly render the website correctly as possible across all browsers. Interestingly, enough, the entire website has been run through many HTML validators (including the WDG/W3C HTML validator) with little or no errors. Certain issues have been dealt with but other problems still need to be addressed. If you find any potential compatibility problems with code herein please let it be known.

As an update, most problems were cosmetic but now have been dealt with. Also, the site was awarded a full HTML validation by W3C. You can observe this in the lower right hand corner of the page. There are still CSS issues to deal with before a full CSS validation can be given from W3C.

The website has finally been born. Its purpose is three fold: to promote myself, to gather my thoughts, and to educate others. Show casing my web development and design skills and a place to put my thoughts down on paper, so to speak, will be its main purposes. I should be using it extensively while I am in the military so be sure to check the personal category as I assume that will be the most active section. Of course I will fill the other categories with as much information and knowledge that I come across. Hopefully this can be useful to others who stumble there. The website itself has gone through three concept designs but this was the pervading one with vivid colors and a chaotic look. Also the user interface, if you will, fits nicely with the scope of the web site. Each article will be such as this one located in this box with the ability to scroll through the articles using the forward and backward arrow buttons located below. The articles themselves will be in the style of "stream of consciousness." The way most conversations take place or how you think to yourself. You can also see this happen by watching most comedians and how they transition from joke to joke leading off from the previous one.
